18Gallery presents Karl Lagerfeld: Photography to coincide with the Chanel retrospective taking place at MoCA. This show, however, promises to reveal a more private side of Lagerfeld's, who has guided the French fashion house this past decade.
Designer, artist and photographer, Lagerfeld is highly acclaimed for his creative eye, having started his photography in 1987. A lover of black and white, the designer's images embrace an extravagant and mysterious quality with supreme elegance and sophistication, full of the power and poise so distinctive of Karl.
The exhibition features a collection of photos produced by Lagerfeld and Adnan Taletovich – a professional fashion model and photographer. Other familiar faces are there too, including world-renowned models Linda Evangelista, Helena Christensen and Patricia Velasquez, as well as introspective self portraits of Lagerfeld himself.
