New Platane store for Shanghai...
January 13, 2012, by CH StaffCongrats to Platane who have not only reached the grand old age of five, but also officially opened their newest Shanghai store yesterday in typically chic fashion: think afternoon tea with dainty eclairs, perfect macaroons and sweet treats galore.
This latest one is on Wukang Lu and replaces the lovely but just too small premises on Yongfu. No such issues here: spacious, airy and with beautiful arched windows, Platane is ringing in the new year with a few noteworthy additions to their covetable range of lifestyle and designer wares.
New for 2012, there's crystal stemware by renowned French firm La Rochère; bell-shaped, latticed shades by Dutch lighting company Ay Illuminate; and beautifully soft bags by Sous Les Paves in leather, suede and pony skin. They're also collaborating with international designers on various lines, including Paola Navone's striking, multi-textured ceramics, and French talent Nathalie Vialars whose blue and white porcelain plates are produced exclusively for Platane down in Jingdezhen. It's all very, very tasteful and well worth a look.
