Amazing currency portraits...
January 17, 2012, by CH StaffBe sure to take a look at DesignBoom.com who are featuring some really amazing work by Chinese creative agency Senseteam.
The Big Business poster and book series features patchwork-like pieces crafted from various global currencies to create astonishingly detailed portraits and pictures. The book was created to present reports on the year's best design campaign from the top 500 brands worldwide. According to the designers, "Currency symbolizes the value of a nation and its position in the world. The 'Big Business 3' portraits 'reflect the subtle relationships and influences across money, desire, society, nations, and human beings."
With each face featuring several different currencies, the pieces speak volumes about the global nature of today's society and economy. Unsurprisingly, the work was awarded a Gold Prize in Communication Design at the recent Design for Asia Award 2011 which took place in Hong Kong late last year.
It's good stuff – do take a look at DesignBoom here for more.
