Go Logo! China
February 16, 2012, by CH StaffOgilvy got in touch to tell us about an exciting project they've just launched with brand guru Mac Cato and affiliated agency The Brand Union called Go Logo! created specifically for China's blossoming design industry. Details can be found right here for details, as well as a branding forum, blogs, articles and interviews with experts.
In addition to all that, they also launched the Go Logo! China Video Challenge, a contest that invites young creative talents to submit their short films for a chance to win one of 10 six-month long, resumé-enhancing PAID internships with Ogilvy. So, if you're handy with a camera, full of bright ideas and less that 25 years old, you should definitely get involved here.
According to Chief Information Officer Kunal Sinha, "The GoLogo! China Video Challenge gives young people with fresh thinking a chance to collaborate with the top brand custodians and creative leaders in China... As brands big and small turn to the design community for advice on how to create new experiences for Chinese consumers, this competition and site will serve as an open platform where members of this community can inspire and elevate each other's work."
Sounds good, no? The initiative is inspired by Mac Cato's bestseller, Go Logo! A Handbook to the Art of Global Branding, a handy tome that examines the influence of both 'commercial persuasion' and 'societal persuasion' branding. The author will work with Ogilvy to produce an eponymous book, featuring contributions from leading Chinese and international designers and marketers, as well as the winners of the Video Challenge.
