Very short project (2 weeks) done for a large China-based cosmetic company that approached us to design a completely new family of bottles for their clients, mostly hotels and SPAs: shampoo, conditioner and body lotion, as well as handwash and bath soap bottles. The design brief was to develop something unique yet generic enough to fit different hotels environment and branding.
We investigate the market and quickly map key trends and some key competitors that we could use as references. The client was open-minded and let us explore various ideas before making his final selection.
All our projects kicks-off with a session of sketches to ideate and communicate internally the various ideas we have. Pen and papers are still the best tools for such a quick brainstorming session.
We present some of the concepts with colourful visuals to highlight specific tonality for each of the shape and proportions.
Another tonality for the second proposal: terrazzo and pop color all the way for a hipster feel. This was definitely the more feminine of our proposals.
Very manly and sporty atmosphere for this third option; design-wise, the bottle has a lot of angles and sharp edges, nothing feminine and smooth here.
The final design selected and produced is still confidential, but all designs should be released during Q3 2020. Obviously we made some concessions as the final design selection was heavily influenced by production cost and factory capabilities.
