With Funk Group’s global footprint and headquarter in Hamburg, Germany it seemed only natural to start serving Chinese clients from their new Shanghai-based China office.
Doing business with China is not new to Funk and their client portfolio includes many well-known Chinese enterprises. But they needed a Chinese website to better inform and convince their clients in China and to clearly communicate that they are here.
After developing a bi-lingual brand logo we set out to create a Chinese brand slogan. As both the English and Chinese brand names didn’t convey much more than the family name, the Chinese brand slogan should help to connect the name “Funk” to their business scope in a memorable way.
The selected slogan “鉴风险,荐风克” (Jiàn fēngxiǎn, jiàn fēng kè), meaning “inspect/reflect risks – recommend Funk” plays with the brand name in a rhyming pair of three characters to create a memorable and topical phrase. Furthermore, the Chinese slogan connects semantically with Funk’s global slogan “Funk – the best recommendation”.
The website contains a wealth of information that are cross-linked for easy exploration: explanations of potential risk fields for dozens of industries as well as detailed insight into different risk areas.
With Funk’s new China team and the new website and slogan, they can now convincingly approach Chinese clients and bring over a century of risk expertise to the table.
