The DeTao Roy Ascott Studio (Shanghai Institute of Visual Arts) seeks to recruit a creative and enthusiastic lecturer for delivering classes in the course BA in Technoetic Arts. The candidates need to demonstrate a high level of theoretical and applied knowledge in art practices, and to be able to develop and deliver quality lectures to the undergraduate students. The duties of the full-time lecturer include planning, developing, and teaching on the subject fields of the module “Tools, Software, and Systems” for Years 1, 2, and 3.

The BA course in Technoetic Arts is a groundbreaking initiative between the world-class international artist, educator, and theorist Roy Ascott with the DeTao Group and the Shanghai Institute of Visual Art (SIVA). The course offers a range of master classes, workshops, seminars, online projects, exhibitions, screenings for both students, researchers, and working professionals in all aspects of the field of new media arts, with the purpose of developing a transdisciplinary forum that promotes speculative research, critical thinking, and advancement of social and cultural attitudes that will inform and effect practical work and professional practice in the emergent planetary culture. Technoetic Arts consist of a four-year full time program designed by the Professor of Technoetic Arts, co-ordinated by DeTao, and taught by DeTao in conjunction with SIVA faculty, in Shanghai, China.
