While collaborating together at Philip Johnson / Alan Ritchie Architects New York in 2004, the “Desfa” name would be the representative name for which Howard Wang and Michael Dungca would associate and group a design style that was inspiring and unique. The terminology for Desfa, as in “design for architecture”, would embrace a range of modern design qualities and experiences. From space, to furniture, to simple objects, there was a common design language that was cherished by both designers.
Desfa Group is now the result of several years of further design exploration and projects that have been completed successfully. Having a broad and border-less view of the world, and working worldwide, the experience has been insightful and invaluable. With successful projects ranging from urban planning, hospitality planning and design, interiors and architecture, the Desfa style and name that was once a collection of ideas is now officially a reality. With the formation of the Desfa Group, that same design language is carried through with each project, and a new wave of talented core designers and associate partners, are driving Desfa Group to higher limits.

Achette’s design philosophy is based on simplicity with tailored precision and craftsmanship, and an artful way of making bold impressions with small unique detailing without loosing premium comfort in each collection.
Many of the pieces in Achette’s collection feature free flowing lines with soft exquisite leathers that have been crafted and colored to perfection. These have all become trademark qualities of the Achette brand. Similarly, DESFA has been inspired by many of these features into the design of the spaces, and therefore having an environment worthy of matching and complementing Archette’s products in a seamless way.
To follow this spirit, the overall design is expressed with clever shapes, style, and colors with playful touch. The key design elements in the space are folded wall, peeled corner of cash desk and peeled ceiling that functioned as the cover for the lighting system.
As we continue to address the simplicity of the space, the material of “Rubber” is to be found in every detail of the architectural shell and furniture. Each furniture are covered in rubber with soften edges and complemented with natural leather provided by Achette to further achieve the state of “well-being” in space. In addition, the decorated art works made of white metal and colorful leather reveal through the geometric cut-outs are meant to attract visitors before entering the space.
